Itinerary
Meet greet and transfer from Airport to Negombo. On arrival you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Negombo

After breakfast depart Negombo for Sigiriya. Climb the 5th century Sigiriya Rock fortress, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa(477-495). The spectacular citadel of Sigiriya rises sheer and impregnable out of the plains of the dry zone. It is the country's most memorable single attraction, a remarkable archaeological site made unforgettable by its dramatic setting. The rock was the innermost stronghold of a 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway.

Embark on a 2-hour drive to uncover the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Polonnaruwa site this morning. Polonnaruwa was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th centuries and is a well-preserved city of stupas, frescoes and statues. Visit the ruins of the Royal Palace, Audience Hall and the Bathing Pool in the Royal Palace group, along with the Thivanka Image House, which possesses the best frescoes from the Polonnaruwa period. Also tour Gal Vihara, a magnificent group of rock temples consisting of four separate statues; a meditating Buddha, a smaller Buddha said to be visiting heaven, a standing Buddha and the reclining Buddha entering Nirvana, which is 14 metres long. Enjoy a leisurely exploration on foot, delving into the palaces and temples.

Travel for 2 hours to Anuradhapura and immerse yourself in the grandeur of this ancient city. Expect about 4 hours of exploration on foot as you uncover its historical treasures. Make a point to visit the revered Bo Tree before making your way back to Sigiriya. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Anuradhapura - One of Sri Lanka’s most ancient cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagobas; domes enshrining sacred relics. The most notable is the Ruvanveliseya Dagoba, dating back to the 2nd century BC. Also visit the Jetavanaramaya, the largest dagoba in the world, and the Thuparamaya, said to contain the collarbone of Buddha, and the first dagoba built in Sri Lanka. Bo Tree - The most renowned Buddhist relic is the sacred Bo Tree. It is said that Emperor Asoka’s daughter brought to Anuradhapura a branch of this tree, under which Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment. Planted over 2,250 years ago, it is the oldest surviving historical tree in the world.

After the breakfast, leave for Kandy. Enroute Visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Here, you could see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed. In the evening, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka's last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the tooth, the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper lake Drive. As evening descends, indulge in a cultural dance performance.

Today morning, we take part in Sri Lankan cooking demonstration at Mountbatten Bungalow, Kandy, which is 30-minute drive from your hotel. You can pluck your own vegetables, touring the garden to gather fresh produce for your dishes in our woodfire kitchen at Mountbatten Bungalow. Share your desires with the chefs, and they will gladly curate the session, ensuring a memorable culinary journey. Unleash your inner chef and savor the essence of Sri Lankan cuisine amid the enchanting ambiance of Mountbatten. The Sri Lankan lunch that follows the session is truly authentic and an explosion of flavors and spice. After the Lunch, proceed to Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, which is 20 minutes drive from Mountbatten Bungalow. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the "National Herbarium of Sri Lanka." Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewelry, handicrafts, batiks, silks etc.. And you will have the opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content.

Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of the tea country and you can visit Damro Tea plantation and a factory enroute here and witness how the famous Ceylon Tea is brewed. Rest of the day at leisure.

The hill station of Nuwara Eliya is a favourite retreat of the British during colonial times. The town is dotted with English country style houses and half-timbered bungalows, earning the name “Little England”. visit to the Race Course or a walk along the gardens nearby and enjoying a pleasant evening by the lake Gregory.
Optional tour: Hortain Palins and World’s End trekking. (3-4 hours) Hortain Plains National Park is a huge area of beautiful countryside in Sri Lanka’s Hill country. The 9km looped track takes you to a stunning viewpoint names World’s End. You can see where it got its name when you reach 4000 foot high precipice. Departing around sunrise, you have the best possibilities to overlook the area at the different vintage points.

After the breakfast, Take Train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. The Nuwaraeliya to Ella train ride is the most beautiful train ride in Sri Lanka. Board the train and experience breathtaking views of lush green tea plantations, mountains, viaducts, valleys, and dense jungle. What’s more, it’s the perfect way to experience Sri Lankan life. Your driver will be picking you up at Ella Train Station and proceed to Yala.

After the breakfast, Departure to Yala for a jeep safari. Yala has six national parks and three wildlife sanctuaries in the vicinity of Yala. Among the largest is Lunugamvehera National Park. The park is situated in the dry semi-arid climatic region and rain is received mainly during the northeast monsoon. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. It is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Yala harbours 215 bird species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44, and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. After finishing the jeep safari return to the hotel.
